The 60s were a time for go-go boots, aqua net hair spray, really big hair, and free love. But it was also a time of heightened social awareness and political upheaval. Events like the civil rights movements and student protests fueled the fire that propelled the music of that time.
If you enjoy reliving the flower power days then you need to make sure and see BEEHIVE at the Cannon County Arts Center! This high-energy musical is about women’s music during this time. It features hits from Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Aretha Franklin and other great female singers and groups who dominated this era of music.
Be sure and plan to dine at "The Kitchen" before the show. The Kitchen is located inside the Arts Center and offers delicious homestyle cooking! An evening out with dinner and a show at The Arts Center of Cannon County is one of my family's favorite things to do! The Arts Center is located in Woodbury and is a short drive from Murfreesboro TN on John Bragg Highway.
Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by calling the Arts Center at 1-800-235-9073 or purchased online. The last two shows will be Friday and Saturday, August 26 and 27! For more information, please visit the Arts Center of Cannon County’s website.
