Rutherford County TN School Calendar 2011-2012 - BACK TO SCHOOL!

It’s hard to believe that summer is already over for students attending Rutherford Back to School Calendar Rutherford County TNCounty Schools in Murfreeboro TN and the surrounding areas!  Rutherford County students returned to school for their first full day on August 8, 2011.  The calendar below is from the Rutherford County School Board for the academic school year 2011-2012.   This applies to students who live in Murfreesboro, Smyrna, LaVergne, Lascassas, Christiana, Rockvale, and Auburntown in grades 7 - 12.  Students who live in Murfreesboro TN homes within the city limits in grades K-6 follow a different calendar if they attend the Murfreesboro City Schools.



Monday, September 5: Labor Day (Schools Closed)
Thur. Sept 15: Early Dismissal: 3 hour, 15-minute day Friday, September 16: End 1st six weeks (grades 9-12)
Tuesday, September 27: 1st six weeks report card (grades 9-12)
Friday, September 30: End 1st nine weeks (grades PK-8)


Mon. October 3 October 7: Fall Break (Schools Closed)
Tuesday, October 18: 1st nine weeks report card (grades PK-8)
Wed. October 19: Early Dismissal - 3 hour, 15-minute day  Thursday, October 20: Parent Teacher Conferences (grades PK-8)


Friday, November 4: End 2nd six weeks (grades 9-12)
Tuesday, November 8: 2nd six weeks report card (grades 9-12)
Thur. November 10: Parent Teacher Conferences (grades 9-12)
Tues. Nov 15: Early Dismissal - 3 hour, 15-minute day Wednesday, November 23-Friday, November 25: Thanksgiving Break (Schools Closed)


Fri. Dec. 16: Abbreviated day for students  (2 hours);
End 3rd six weeks (grades 9-12); 2nd nine weeks (grades PK-8) 

Monday, December 19- Monday, January 2: Winter Break (Schools Closed for students


Wed. January 4: Students Return from Winter Break 

Tuesday, January 10: 3rd six weeks report card (grades 9-12),

2nd nine weeks report card (grades PK-8) 

Monday, January 16: MLK Holiday (Schools Closed)



Thursday, February 16: End 4th six weeks (grades 9-12)
Fri. Feb 17: In-Service day (No school for students)

Mon. Feb 20: President’s Day (No school for students)

Tuesday, February 28: 4th six weeks report card (grades 9-12)

MARCH 2012

Thursday, March 1: Parent Teacher Conferences (grades 9-12)
Thur. March 8: Early Dismissal - 3 hour, 15-minute day

Mon. March 19 - 23: Spring Break (Schools Closed

APRIL 2012

Friday, April 6: Good Friday (Schools Closed)
Friday, April 13: End 5th six weeks (grades 9-12)
Tuesday, April 24: 5th six weeks report card (grades 9-12)

MAY 2012

Thursday, May 24: Teacher Work Day (No School)

Friday, May 25:  Last day for students: two-hour day
